When prayers feel useless

What do we do when someone who we can't reach, is hurting?
When we can't reach out our hand and comfort them, let them though that even though the darkness is  making them feel like they're blind, that we are still here.

That we are praying, and that we have faith that this isn't the end?

A lot of the time I feel like I can find the answer, always, if I dig deep enough.
But right now, I don't have it.
I try so hard to remain steadfast in my faith. Believing that I can move mountains and that prayers are already answered before they leave my lips. That those bound by chains can be released of their pain.

But what if they're too bound to see that. What if they're pushing everyone away.

The mind is such a strong thing, and it can cripple a faithful heart.

Now is our moment.
Now is the time to pray. And not any old prayer, but the kind that CAN move mountains.

Now is the time to thank Him for His grace and mercy, to not only speak it, but believe it to be true. In weakness there is strength overcoming, and prayer might be the only hope.

Lord, I'm putting this in your hands, that you may heal those who are hurting in their hearts. Thank you for letting them know that the darkness isn't permenant and that this is not the life you want for them. That they aren't being punished. Thank you for helping them know that they are so wonderfully made, in your image, and even when they're tarnished, scarred and torn down, that they are beautiful in the reflection of your eyes. That it is not too late. That time is not in control of them, and that everything can be different. Your blessings are outpouring, continue to let them flow freely over those who feel that the light at the end of the tunnel is growing dim. Thank you for assuring them that this is not over, and that Your grace and mercy are sufficient. That they are more than any police officer, judge, pastor, or judgemental peer can ever offer. That no matter how heavy the chains, or broken the heart, that all can be healed in You. I pray for Peace and understanding, for a sound mind and a mended heart, for those who can not hear my prayers. Thank you for letting them see that they are not alone even though that's all they see right now. That they will never be alone, no matter how far away the light gets.
